General Summary

Manage the development and marketing of Eyefinity's new and existing products for members and clients. Develop product marketing plans and strategies to position Eyefinity products in the market place.

Develop and evaluate ideas, introduce product enhancements to the market, and monitor success and profitability.

Unify and develop company-wide initiatives to make Eyefinity products easier to buy, sell and use.

Leverage a deep understanding of the market, customers, sales channels, technology partners and competitors to define a winning strategy and roadmap, and execute efficiently against it.

Essential Functions

Identify product opportunities based on current and future market trends and competitive environment.

Evaluate significant product ideas for market potential and practicality. Ensure that they respond to consumer needs and add value to Eyefinity’s product portfolio.

Author Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) to capture and communicate business needs and strategy, including build / partner / buy recommendations.

Author and/or review Product Requirement Documents that deliver on the needs and strategies defined in the MRD, and that address both functional and non-functional requirements.

Description:

Work closely with Product Specialists to ensure that user input and subject matter expertise is thoroughly represented in the business strategy and product requirements.

Effectively lead a cross-functional team to ensure delivery of product releases meet content, schedule, quality and budget requirements.

Accountability for overall product success across both product (engineering, documentation) and non-product (product marketing, support, professional services, education) areas

Develop product marketing strategies, product plans, pricing and positioning for new and existing products and product enhancements.

Proactively evangelize the product both internally and externally

Conduct on-going evaluation of Eyefinity products. Analyze and conduct primary & secondary market research to effectively assess and anticipate client and consumer demands.

Track, evaluate and provide company-wide reporting on product success, including market, financial, operational and satisfaction metrics.

Coordinate internal efforts to address product support, product issues and care delivery. Respond to inquiries regarding product business rules and work with business partners to resolve product issues.

Work with the Corporate Communications Department to develop marketing materials that differentiate Eyefinity’s products and service from competitors’, including creation of internal and external messages and educational tools for new and existing products and product enhancements.

Participate in the development of Eyefinity's long-term product goals and competitive strategies.

Participate in the development of business, sales and promotional strategies that meet the unique market needs.

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Management, related field or equivalent work experience. A graduate degree in business (MBA) is highly desired.

Five or more years of product management or marketing experience with successful software products.

Experience within the optical industry is a plus, particularly familiarity with eye examinations, exam equipment, medical diagnosis and electronic medical record (EMR) software.

Ability to effectively handle broad, complex and unstructured tasks, with minimal management direction

Experience managing product delivery, market communications, and business operations

Skill to manage products across operational divisions

Ability to accomplish objectives through others, by establishing and maintaining strong working relationships across functions and levels

Skill to analyze market research and financial information, evaluate profitability and identify trends

Project management experience developing the skills to plan and coordinate resources; delegate tasks and accomplish objectives

Strong influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent writing skills

Ability to deliver results in a fast paced, deadline driven environment that requires the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

Ability to travel up to 25%
