Employment Brand

Stay on Top of Things

Even a small company has to be vigilant about its employment brand. Just as social media platforms are a great place to broadcast your brand, review sites like Yelp and Glassdoor are both places where incoming feedback is recorded. Glassdoor registers comments of present and former employees and gives a more direct evaluation of you as an employer. You ought to check both on a routine basis, making improvements to your brand if negative comments appear too often. Do not attempt to retaliate against a negative opinion – this could only make your problem worse. Instead, always be kind and courteous, and take this as an opportunity to go above and beyond. After all – the customer is always right!

The Benefit/Payoff

A good employment brand makes your company look good in the public eye. Not only will customers be more willing to investigate your products and/or services, but the right future employees will find it easier to identify with your company. Greater exposure and awareness can ultimately make it much easier to attract quality candidates, and that is critical. The payoff of an Employment Branding strategy can be exponential, as you’re not only improving your ability to attract and hire better candidates, but decreasing costly turnover in the long run.
