As member of the New York-based Faculty Relations and Clinical Services team, the Senior Manager of Volunteer Recruitment serves as ORBIS’ primary point of support for international Volunteer Faculty (VF) recruitment and selection. She/he is responsible for recruiting, maintaining and supporting the ORBIS global cadre of volunteer medical professionals. These Volunteer Faculty are a key component of ORBIS’ capacity building approach. They are deployed to the Flying Eye Hospital (FEH) and/or to field based programs to participate in short term, needs based training activities to share their skills and expertise with local partner ophthalmic professionals in their efforts to prevent blindness and restore sight. They are ophthalmologists, anesthesiologists, ophthalmic nurses and other related eye health personnel for deployment aboard.
The Senior Manager of Volunteer Recruitment also serves as an in-house ophthalmic clinical resource and liaison to ORBIS’ supply chain management team regarding necessary medical supplies and consumables dependent on individual VF or partner need.
