Fast paced, large ophthalmology practice seeking experienced ophthalmic technician. The candidate must be able to perform an extensive number of data collection functions as delegated by the physicians to allow for proper professional diagnosis of patients' conditions. Ability to demonstrate comprehension of the ophthalmic technician skills as outlined by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology. Must have the ability to perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks to include, but not limited to the following:
visual acuity, manual lensometry, visual fields, pachymetry, A scan, B scan, GDx, OCT, angle assessment, advanced refractometry, pupillary function, applanation tonometry, ophthalmic imaging, as well as flourescien angiography.
Ability to assist physicians with laser procedures, minor surgery, and maintain practice standards of sterile technique and infection control.
High school graduate or equivalent a must. Experienced applicants only. COA, COT preferred but not required. Must possess strong communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be a problem solver with analytical skills. Must have good organizational skills, with attention to detail. Ability to work as a team member a must. Computer literacy required.
