Works well with other team members; assists ophthalmologist and patients in an outpatient day to day office routine. Includes performing the following duties: ophthalmic work up and ancillary testing; assisting ophthalmologist throughout the patient exam, office laser and surgical procedures; first assistant in OR; will work in clerical areas if necessary; Adheres to strict confidentiality and continually utilizes excellent customer service skills.
**Position will travel with the ophthalmologist - currently 1-2 days per week. The position is Sayre based (4 days) with travel to Big Flats (1 day). The position will occasionally cover in other ophthalmology locations as needed for vacation, call-ins, etc. Position travel frequency may change based on the needs of the department.
Certification as Ophthalmic Assistant, Technician or Surgical Ophthalmic Assistant; Registered Nurse; Licensed Practical Nurse.
Individuals with ophthalmic assisting experience may apply; certification will be required within the first year of employment.
