HIMG is looking for an Ophthalmic Tech for our Ophthalmology Department

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of the anatomy of the eye and terminology associated with the eye
• Superior customer service skills
• Excellent written, oral communication skills, and knowledge of medical terminology
• Management of multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
• Literate in medical management software
• Well-organized with attention to detail
• Knowledge of clinical processes and procedures
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITES
• Performs patient work-ups and diagnostic testing
• Answers patient questions and telephone inquiries, including but not limited to, attaining resolution to patient problems
• Ensures all clinic equipment is functioning properly; requests repairs and maintenance
• Maintains a smooth flow of patients to the physical, altering the test sequence as required
• Provides back support by returning patient phone calls, managing prescription refills.
• Assists with appointment scheduling and surgery scheduling as needed
• Orders clinical supplies
• Performing specialized testing (including; OCTs, TOPO, Visual Fields, IOL Master, A/R, Applanation Tonometry, Ocular Motility, Pupillary exam, Fundus Photos, Refractions, etc.
• Assists in minor office procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Certified as ophthalmic technician or medical technologist or willing to obtain certification
• Experience work in ophthalmic care or other medical office
