Participates in the delivery of patient care in an effective manner

Under direction of physician, may call pharmacy with prescription refills and records prescriptions in patients’ charts

Updating patient history, physical exam and other pertinent health information

Ensures proper condition of the examination room and stocks supplies, if needed

Assists in minor procedure and lasers, as necessary. Familiar with procedure instruments

Assists Ophthalmic Technicians to perform diagnostic testing necessary for evaluation

Ensures that all clinical data, lab or other test results, the interpretation of the results by the physician, are recorded accurately in the medical records

Interacts with patients, visitors and all personnel in a courteous manner

Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic flow

Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, local requirements, and all HIPAA standards

Position may require work at more than one location during a scheduled work week
