We are a fast growing medical practice located 1 1/2 hours North of Orlando. This is an entry level medical position. We are willing to train/teach the right person. These positions are in different office locations daily as they are assigned to a physician and their team.

Summary of Responsibilities:
With supervision/direction from the lead technician/clinic manager, the individual will be responsible for daily patient care and flow. The major purpose of this position is to provide accurate documentation and summarization of the ocular examination and recommendations, while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status and patient care plan. In addition, this individual will assist with pharmaceutical supplies ordering/receiving, preparation of preoperative paperwork and other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Abilities:
Position requires good understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care
Knowledge of medical instrumentation and its proper care and usage needed
Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time.
Experience maintaining patient confidentiality.
Strong professional interpersonal skills
Demonstrated respect for staff and patients.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Team-oriented.
Able to manage projects simultaneously.
Legible handwriting and computer literacy.

Physical Demands:
Occasional heavy lifting is required (patient assistance) and the ability to move ophthalmic equipment is frequent (most items are on rolling stands). Position requires standing for long intervals and frequent walking.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to write
Must be able to hold arms at shoulder height
Must be able to communicate via phone
Must have manual dexterity to work with ophthalmic equipment
Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly lit setting
Must be able to hear softly spoken words
