As a large Indianapolis based ophthalmology practice serving the specialty eye care needs of patients regionally, Midwest Eye Institute is looking for a full-time ophthalmic imager. Job Summary: The Ophthalmic Photographer is responsible for providing diagnostic imaging support to a variety of subspecialty ophthalmologists – with most orders coming from retinal specialists. The incumbent performs patient testing using specialized equipment: including Heidelberg Spectralis; Topcon fundus camera system (OphthaVision capture platform); multiple Zeiss OCT units; Optos Tx. Examples of Procedures performed include digital angiography, including IV injections; color fundus photography; and optical coherence tomography. Incumbent must also secure and maintain imaging certifications for a variety of research trials. Familiarity with EMR is critical. (Experience with MDI IntelleSys EHR beneficial (Nextech).
Education: Specialized training in the field; degreed candidates preferred.
Certification and Licensure: Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT-C); Retinal Angiography (CRA) preferred.
Minimum Experience: 1 year in ophthalmology, including exposure to specialized equipment mentioned above.
Type of Position: Full-time; typically 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, though hours may vary based on clinic needs.
Other Information/Requirements: Knowledge of standard photographic techniques, materials, processes, and equipment; medical/biomedical photography training; familiarity with certification requirements of various reading centers.
