The Raleigh Eye Center is an 11 doctor multi-specialty ophthalmology practice with 4 offices across the greater Raleigh, NC & South Virginia area. We provide full service medical and surgical care including routine eye care, retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, and corneal services. We are also the premier destination for optical and contact lens service. This fast-paced and critical role requires an organized, assertive, thinking-on-your-feet, ophthalmology and surgery knowledgeable individual.
Working at our South Durham location, the hours will be 8:00 – 5:00 Monday- Thursday & 8:00- 3:00 on Friday.
Responsible for all aspects of hospital surgery preparation in order to promote confidence in a patient’s medical care and make the surgical experience as smooth as possible, including but not limited to the following: • Schedule patients for surgery and collect all pertinent data for upcoming surgeries. • Be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. • A wide degree of organizational and communication skill is required. • Requires flexibility to travel to any office including Reidsville, NC, South Hill, VA, & Raleigh, NC; reliable transportation required. Successful candidate must have the following: • 2+ years ophthalmic technician experience; Certification a plus. • Prior surgery scheduling experience required. • Knowledge of the world of ophthalmology and desire to increase knowledge. • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and Word, and knowledge of electronic records system required; NextGen experience a plus. • Due to the multi-tasking demands, strong organizational, management of multiple projects/changing priorities, and excellent communication and inter-personal skills are a must. • Strong work ethic and commitment to patient care required. • Must be able to build and maintain a strong rapport with patients, clinic team, and surgery scheduling team members.
