Wilmington Eye is seeking a certified ophthalmic assistant (COA). This position requires a professional, caring, dedicated person who is proficient in multitasking and communicates well.
This opportunity is to join the area’s largest and most experienced multi-specialty ophthalmology group. Our practice has over 40 years of service to our community and we pride ourselves on providing high quality, ethical patient care. We are a high volume ophthalmic practice with 3 comprehensive ophthalmologists, 3 sub-specialists (pediatrics, oculoplastics and cornea), and 3 optometrists. We have three locations and staff may travel between locations. Our staff is very well trained with an average tenure of 9 years.
The ophthalmic assistant should accurately perform:
- Assisting the doctor in patient care (including administering eye drops)
- Patient interviews (histories, ROS, chief complaints)
- Visual Acuities
- Applanation tonometry
- HRT, OCT, Fundus photography, AR, pachymetry topography
Typing and computer skills a MUST! Medical knowledge a plus. Previous experience preferred but not required. Must be a team player with organizational skills and attention to detail.
