Position available in our Southern Pines NC office. Under the supervision of an Eye Center physician, the ophthalmic assistant obtains data from patients and performs duties that assist doctors in the evaluation of patient eye problems.
Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Documenting charts and accurate ICD-10 diagnosis coding, and billing charges. Prepares prescriptions and e-Rx for doctor’s signatures. Prepare for minor procedures by setting up for, assisting with, and cleaning up after procedures. Schedules special tests with specialists or other CEA departments as necessary. Regular use of Electronic Medical Records database. Full-Time position with excellent benefits. EOE.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent education/training, prefer Associates Degree. Prefer previous ophthalmic or medical office experience, COA or COT credentials. If not COA certified, will be required to obtain within certain time period, company will assist in process.
