Ophthalmic Assistant/Opthalmic Technician/Medical Assistant
Part Time Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician or Medical Assistant needed in the growing healthcare field - training available.
Pinnacle Retina serves the Western Greensboro community with convenient access via Wendover and Interstate 40. Our practice is looking for an outgoing, energetic and efficient Ophthalmic or Medical Assistant with the ability to multitask, strong organizational skills, and excellent people skills. The ideal candidate is self directed, outgoing, friendly, and patient, has a positive attitude, and communicates well. Computer experience required; electronic medical record and practice management system experience a plus; training will be provided for our systems.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with possible earlier or later days, depending on Patient load.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Knowledge of ocular anatomy, medical terminology, diseases of the eye and patient charting.
Obtain patient history and perform work up for eye exam (ie: visual acuity, pupil testing, motility testing, ocular function, tonometry & confrontation visual fields).
Administer topical ophthalmic medications.
Ophthalmic photography (ie: OCT, FA, Fundus photos).
Use and maintenance of ophthalmic instruments and sterilization equipment.
Preparing patients for minor procedures and ocular injections.
Triage of patient calls.
Assisting with Laser procedures.
Act as scribe when necessary.
Counseling patients with surgical preparation, Rx use, and Amsler grid.
Certification helpful, but not a requirement. Medical experience a plus.
