Advanced Eye Care Center, Inc., is a busy comprehensive ophthalmology practice in Ontario (Mansfield), Ohio with an opportunity for a motivated ophthalmic assistant or technician to join our well established practice. 

As a valued team member, you will have the chance to work alongside our ophthalmologist who provides medical and surgical care of the eye, including but not limited to cataract, glaucoma, and eye plastic surgery.  We are an Accredited Dry Eye Center of Excellence, and offer advanced technology services to our patients.  

The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence in patient care and be motivated to enhance the level of skill and knowledge for professional growth.  The technician will provide high quality patient care by initiating patient exams, performing diagnostic testing, minor surgical assistance, and proficient documentation of patient complaints, HPI, past medical and surgical history, current medications, allergies and drug reactions.  The preferred candidate will have general medical knowledge, specifically basic knowledge of ocular anatomy and physiology, systemic diseases, ocular emergencies, and maintain CPR certification.

Basic skills to measure visual acuity, color vision, Amsler grid, pupil evaluation, and estimation of anterior chamber depth will be required. Must have knowledge and proficient use of lensometry to record current lens power in plus or minus cylinder. Ability to scribe, and perform routine instrument maintenance will be necessary.  Room cleanliness and disinfection, and stocking of supplies required.  Ability to perform diagnostic testing such as refractometry, fundus photography, OCT, HVF, tonometry, topography, and biometery. 

High school diploma or equivalent is required. JCAHPO (Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology) Certification is strongly preferred, but will consider a motivated individual willing to commit to training and certification within first 18 – 24 months of hire.
