What are some tasks performed in this role?
As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will work alongside a team of board-certified doctors and highly trained ophthalmic technicians. You will be responsible for providing unparalleled care to each patient, helping to conduct visual screenings, educate on the basic functions and importance of vision, and assist the doctor during exams. The best person for this role is responsible, positive, and driven to go above and beyond for each patient.
What are the responsibilities of the job?
With 6 different locations among New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender and Onslow county, you will be providing care to patients throughout the community. Our hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, from 7am to 7pm. Some of your job responsibilities will include:
Assisting the doctor in patient care (including administering eye drops)
Patient interviews (histories, ROS, chief complaints)
HRT, OCT, Fundus photography, AR, pachymetry, topography
Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer functions and typing skills are a must. Medical knowledge is preferred but are not required as we are willing to train the right candidate.
