Busy Ophthalmology practice looking for a Medical Front Desk Receptionist. Only applicants with prior Ophthalmology experiance will be considered. The position focuses on patient intake registration, insurance verification, and charge and payment entry. The candidate chosen for this position will have excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude and be knowledgeable of medical office procedures in addition to insurance knowledge.
Although this is not a final list, these are primary responsibilities:
Front desk responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting them with registration paperwork, collecting insurance information and entering all information into the practice management system. Collecting co-pays and entering charges and payments into the patient’s account with correct CPT and ICD-10 codes. Keeping a financial batch with charges and all monies collected and balancing at the end of the day. Includes filing VSP and EyeMed claims daily. Also includes verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining authorizations from insurance companies and 3rd party vision plans.
Will also be responsible for scanning documents into the ICS Document Management System (including registration documents, correspondence, testing results, purged records and any other paper documentation that associates with a patient). Occasional travel to satellite locations required.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

The ability to provide EXCELLENT customer service with a smile and exhibit grace and professionalism under pressure.
Previous medical office experience (Optometry or Ophthalmology experience preferred).
Experience with ICD-10 coding, CPT coding and insurance eligibility verification.
Basic knowledge of medical Practice Management and Electronic Health Records computer systems
