Our practice is looking for a professional Front Office Receptionist. It is required that the candidate has some experience in the Ophthalmic, Optometric or Ophthalmological field. Duties will include answering phones, scheduling appointments, patient data entry and interacting with patients. We are looking for someone who has a solid understanding of vision insurance and has worked with OFFICEMATE / EYEFINITY or another Optometric / Ophthalmologic software program. Experience and knowledge of vision plans, verifying patient insurance eligibilities and the determination of patient overages is strongly recommended. It would be beneficial if the candidate has some optical experience to work with our optician in assisting patients in their frame selection as well as possessing some knowledge and training in Contact Lens terminology and ordering. Duties will include but are not limited to collecting and documenting the patient's chief complaint, verifying the patient's ocular and medical history when they check in and to collect any insurance overages or balances when they check out. The candidate we are looking for should have a talent for multi-tasking, with excellent communication and organizational skills along with providing patients with superb customer service. Since the Front Office Receptionist is often the first person a patient will communicate with, the successful candidate will be friendly, possess outstanding people's skills and maintain a respectful attitude towards each and every patient. Working with fellow staff members including the doctor and the optician in a professional manner is expected at all times.
