We currently have an opportunity for a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. This person will work at our St. Paul Specialty Center. This position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of eye care by our optometry staff and to deliver these services in a professional, cost effective & timely manner.

Monday through Thursday 7:00am – 6:00pm
Friday 7:00am – 5:00pm
(The day off during the week will vary based on staffing)
Accountabilities: rooms patients for the provider and obtains patient history, neutralize present glasses prescription, obtains visual acuity, performs extra ocular muscle assessment, performs confrontation visual fields, performs pupil testing and color vision testing. This position will assist patients with the instruction of patients on the insertion and removal of contact lenses, order contact lenses for patients, and monitor all contact lens orders. This position performs visual fields, and coordinates walk-ins, patient phone calls, etc with reception staff and eye care providers.
- Certification as a COA by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology
- Minimum of one year experience working as an Ophthalmic Assistant in an Ophthalmology or Optometry setting
- Must be professional, punctual & dependable
- Must possess good communication skills
- Must be able to interact with various types of patients and staff
