Emory Eye Center, a center within Emory Healthcare, is seeking a certified or non-certified ophthalmic assistant to assist with daily phone triage and clinical messages for the eye center physicians. Daily duties would include prioritizing phone messages, speaking with patients regarding urgent or triage needs, and assisting with disability or FMLA paperwork for patients. This position is part of our call center team and would be located off-site from the patient clinic.

This position requires above average organization and attention to detail. This position will be responsible for daily phone triage for all subspecialties within the eye center along with completion of forms as directed by providers and needed by patients. The position will consist of 80-90% phone and desk work and will have no face-to-face with the patients on a day to day basis. Exposure to all types of ophthalmic patients (from cornea and retina to neuro-ophthalmology and pediatrics) preferred along with ability to triage patients for urgency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least one year of related experience. At least 3 years Ophthalmic experience required, more preferred.
