Billing Specialist

The right candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be detailed oriented, and have a proven track record of being a team player.
Additionally, candidates must have a high level of proficiency at Windows-based computer programs and Electronic Medical Records. Ophthalmic billing experience is preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Code and audit providers charts
- Post payments received to accounts
- Work denials from insurance companies
- Balance payments posted to the system with deposits
- Perform insurance follow-up when needed
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries or problems
- Work patient collection accounts
- Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ Years of medical billing experience
- Demonstrated familiarity with medical terminology and services
- Knowledge of insurance contracts and the application of insurance contracts in the reimbursement process
- Possess critical thinking skills
