Quick Poll Results: What Do Ophthalmic Technicians Want in a Job?

Ophthalmic Technician at Work

We recently polled a group of Certified Ophthalmic Technicians on Facebook, asking the question “What do Ophthalmic Technicians most want in a place of employment?”  We pooled the responses, and here is what they told us:

  1. Harmonious work environment–a staff that gets along.
  2. A practice that takes pride in their staff, rewards certification, as well as enables advancement and growth in responsibility.
  3. A practice that takes medical ethics and “human care” seriously.
  4. Doctors and an Office Manager that appreciates and respects their staff, and shows it!
  5. Appropriate compensation and benefits.
  6. Reasonable commute and/or amount of travel.

Overall, our conclusion is that Ophthalmic Technicians - like many other eye care professionals - desire a work environment that is ethical, fair, and fulfilling.  Perhaps you desire the same, or perhaps your requirements are slightly different. Either way, there’s always a place you can go if you’re looking for a new opportunity in Ophthalmology.  Check out our several Ophthalmic Technician jobs currently listed on Local Eye Site!
