In this position, you will perform visual testing, assist the ophthalmologist/optometrist by greeting and identifying patients, take a preliminary history, and, as needed, perform visual fields, obtain ocular pressures, dilate pupils performing minor surgical procedures, and perform departmental duties to improve patient flow and department function.
Requirements include Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology. Five years of recent experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant is preferred.
