Growing retail eyecare practice seeking an Optical Store Manager for our Grand Rapids, MI location. This individual will be responsible for dispensing eyewear, managing the daily operations of the retail store, and creating an environment that delivers excellent patient and customer care.
Terms:
• Full-time hours; must be flexible related to scheduling and available to work on Saturdays. Some travel may be required.
• Salary plus commission; compensation based on experience.
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or its equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of optical experience and/or 5 years retail management experience
• Supervisory experience in an optical retail environment preferred
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide excellent service and education to customers
• Assist customers with the selection and purchase of eyewear and optical goods
• Properly dispense and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses
• Instruct customers in adapting to, wearing and caring for eyewear
• Manage the daily operations of the retail store, including personnel, scheduling, budgeting and inventory
• Train and develop a team of knowledgeable and service-focused associates
• Ensure employee compliance with all policies and procedures
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent customer-service, organization, time-management, problem-solving and communication skills
• Effective retail and personnel management skills
• Demonstrated ability to generate and improve sales revenue
• Ability to develop a strong team
• Ability to create a fun, educational, professional and customer-focused environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel
