Description:
We currently have a need for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician at our facility in North Durham.
COA/COT preferred, however, we are willing to assist an experienced ophthalmic technician in obtaining certification. Preferably the candidate will have experience in LASIK/Refractive Surgery and also with:
Vision Testing
Refraction
Slit Lamp Exam
Keratometry
Applanation Tonometry
A Scan Biometry
Visual Fields

Requirements:
Completion of the AAO Home Study Course, successful completion of the JCAHPO COA exam preferred. Experience in an ophthalmic office with patient interaction required.
Requires excellent communication skills and a keen understanding of patients with sensory impairment. Must be able to express a caring attitude while performing tasks required with accuracy and efficiency. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
