Five-physician ophthalmology practice in Columbus, Ohio seeks experienced individual with strong clinical management background. Clinic Manager will direct the management of daily clinic operations, as well as participate in strategic planning and growth opportunities in the community. Ideal candidate will demonstrate management experience, advanced communication abilities and computer proficiency. Knowledge of medical practice complexities essential. JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Clinical Manager

REPORTS TO: CEO

JOB SUMMARY: Manage and direct all physical activities of the clinic according to COA standards of care.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or higher preferred
2. A minimum of five years experience in medical management.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Possess strong teaching skills.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Analytical.
4. Detail oriented.
5. Excellent organizational skills.
6. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Demonstrated computer literacy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Management of Technicians
a. Responsible for hiring, orientation, disciplinary action and reviews of clinical staff.
b. Review testing procedures, test scheduling and documentation.
c. Provide or arrange for ongoing training for clinical staff.
d. Provide or arrange for competency testing of clinical staff.
e. Maintenance of quarterly continuing education program.
f. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of all ophthalmic equipment is being scheduled and performed.
g. Perform random room audits
h. Develop daily/weekly work schedules for the clinical staff.
i. Prepare clinic payroll for all clinic staff
j. Co-lead staff meetings

2. Quality Assurance
a. Maintain and coordinate internal chart review program.
b. Provide continuing education resources to those that fall outside practice standards.
c. Implement and manage Quality Control including but not limited to:
i. Medical waste management.
ii. Assert testing of all autoclaves.
iii. Medical refrigeration.
d. Document utilization/outcome statistics.
e. Oversee continuous process improvement program.
f. Coordinate and oversee ongoing outcome studies

3. Administrative
a. Troubleshoot any problems that arise at any time prior to surgery.
b. Follow through on outcomes of medical emergencies; recommend processes for change as applicable.
c. Mediate any disputes among clinical employees.
d. Attend weekly management meetings.
e. Ongoing review of all clinic processes
f. Provide support to practice administrator as needed
